  5. A varied and inspired album in which Cephas & Wiggins give the best of themselves in true Piedmont style Blues (splendid versions of "Dog days of august", "Roberta" and "Hard time killing floor"). Originally issued as a single cassette, the album has been reissued on LP and CD.
  6. John Cephas' "The Pimp in the Pink Suit," with its cowboy chorus, could just as well have been written in the '30s. Phil Wiggins shines on "Burn Your Bridges," an instrumental showcase for his lip-shredding harmonica gymnastics that is as compelling as anything from the great Sonny Terry, Price: $
  7. Cephas & Wiggins speak to me where I live. I don't think they could put out a bad album if they tried! My two favorite songs on this album are STACK & THE DEVIL AND RAILROAD BILL. You can't ever go wrong by buying their music. These two are truly great Bluesmen. More power to them!
  8. Biography Almost immediately after guitarist/vocalist John Cephas joined forces with harmonicist/vocalist Phil Wiggins in , the blues community took them to heart. Critics and fans proclaimed them as the new champions of the East Coast Piedmont style of blues, a style of music first popularized by artists like Blind Boy Fuller, Rev. Gary Davis, Blind Willie McTell and Blind Blake.
  9. Cephas & Wiggins — whose style and appeal is often compared to that of an earlier Tidewater duo, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee — keep the tradition alive by infusing it with their own originality, vitality, and, most importantly, fun. The duo celebrates the gentle, melodic blues style of the southeastern U.S. with every performance.
