Instant Funk came out of Trenton, New Jersey consisting of Raymond Earl, Scotty Miller and guitarist Kim Miller. Though Sigler struck gold through his songwriting efforts for Joe Simon, the O'Jays, and others, "I Got My Mind Made Up (You Can Get It Girl)" brought Sigler some of the recognition he sought after having a hit with "Let Me Party With You" on Salsoul Records.
